Frequently Asked Questions

The questions people ask before they book. If yours is not here, call (806) 290-0166 and just ask. We would rather answer it than have you guess.

What areas do you serve?

Amarillo, Canyon, and Bushland, plus the surrounding Texas Panhandle inside roughly a 30-mile radius of Amarillo. That covers most of Potter and Randall County. If you are sitting a little outside that line, call anyway. If it is close, we will come get it.

What is the difference between a roll off rental and a clean out?

Who does the loading, and that is the only difference that matters. With a roll off rental we drop a container and leave, you fill it at your own pace over hours or weeks, and we come back for it. With a clean out we bring a crew, empty the space, and haul it off the same day. You do not touch anything. Some jobs use both.

What can I not put in a dumpster?

Keep out hazardous chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, and solvents. No liquids of any kind, including motor oil, transmission fluid, and antifreeze. No paint or paint thinner. No propane tanks or aerosol cans. No tires, car batteries, or asbestos. Appliances containing Freon, like refrigerators, freezers, and window air conditioners, need to be handled properly before disposal, so ask us before one goes in. Everything in a normal remodel, tear-off, or cleanout is fine.

Why can’t I just use my city alley dumpster?

Because the City of Amarillo provides those for household waste and general refuse only. Construction and remodeling debris is not allowed in them. The moment your project produces drywall, lumber, shingles, cabinets, flooring, or concrete, the alley is off the table and the debris needs a container or a trip to the landfill.

Is it cheaper to rent a dumpster or haul it to the dump myself?

Depends on volume. If you have one pickup load of household junk and you live inside the Amarillo city limits, drive it out to the landfill on Bezner Drive. That is the cheaper answer and we will tell you so. Once you are past two or three loads, or the debris is something the city will not take, a container usually wins after you count fuel, the trips, loading everything twice, and your hours. There is also the wind. The landfill closes early on high-wind days, and a container in your driveway does not.

What size container do I need?

Call and describe the job and we will tell you what fits. We would rather have that conversation than have you pick a size off a chart and end up with a container that is too small on a Saturday afternoon. Volume is harder to estimate than people expect, and it is the one thing worth getting right the first time.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the job, so we do not publish a flat number that would be wrong for most people. What we will do is give you a real price on the phone once you describe what you have, and that number is the number. No surprise additions at the end.

How soon can you get out here?

It depends on what is already on the schedule that week. We will tell you honestly what is open rather than promise a day we cannot hit, because a container that does not arrive when you planned your weekend around it is worse than no container at all. Call and we will tell you where things stand.

Do I need to be home when you deliver or pick up?

For a container drop or pickup, usually not, as long as we know exactly where it goes and the truck can reach it. For a clean out, somebody should be available at the start so we can confirm what stays and what goes. After that you are free to leave us to it.

I’m a landlord. Can you clear a unit after an eviction?

Yes, that is a good part of what we do. Give us the address, the unit size, and a rough idea of what got left behind, and photos if you have them. We work quickly and without making a scene in front of the neighbors, which most property managers care about as much as the speed. One thing to know: the timing of when you have property hauled after a set-out is your legal call, not ours. If you are unsure about your obligation on a specific eviction, ask your attorney rather than a hauling company.

Do you do estate clean outs?

We do, and we try to handle them carefully. Take out anything with a name on it first, along with photos, documents, and jewelry. Tell us which rooms or items are off limits and we will work around them. We are not an estate sale company and we do not appraise anything, so if you think something has value, have it looked at before we come. Once it is hauled, it is gone.

What happens to everything after you haul it?

It goes to the landfill or to the appropriate facility depending on what it is. Items that need special handling, like Freon appliances, get routed accordingly rather than dumped in with everything else.
