Eviction Haul Offs in Amarillo, TX

An empty unit earns nothing. When a tenant leaves furniture, mattresses, and eight bags of trash behind, every day that pile sits is a day you cannot list the place. We clear it out, haul it off, and hand the property back ready to show.

The part nobody budgets for

You planned for the lost rent. You planned for the court filing. What surprises most landlords is the state of the unit afterward.

Under Texas Property Code 24.0061, once a writ of possession is executed, the tenant’s belongings get removed from the structure and set outside where they can be retrieved. Texas law does not require you to store any of it, and it does not require your crew to pack it carefully. But it also does not make the pile disappear. It just moves it from inside your unit to the curb, which is now your problem and your neighbor’s eyesore.

That is where we come in. We take the pile.

What we haul

Whatever is left. In practice that usually means:

  • Couches, mattresses, bed frames, and box springs
  • Dressers, tables, and broken particleboard furniture
  • Bagged trash and loose garbage
  • Appliances the tenant left or abandoned
  • Clothing, bedding, and personal effects nobody claimed
  • Cleaning debris, carpet, and pad if it came up
  • Yard waste and anything piled outside

We work the unit and the curb. If the constable already set it out front, we clear the front. If it is still inside, we go in and get it.

Why speed matters more here than anywhere else

Most hauling jobs can wait a week. This one cannot.

The eviction timeline in Texas already runs weeks by the time you get through notice, filing, hearing, the five-day appeal window, and the constable’s twenty-four hour posting. Every one of those days is vacancy. By the time you have possession back, you have already absorbed the loss and you want the unit listed immediately.

There is also the weather problem. Texas law bars the officer from setting a tenant’s property outside while it is raining, sleeting, or snowing, unless the city provides a closed container for it. In practice that means writs stack up behind bad weather and then all execute at once when it clears. If your turn comes during one of those clusters, everybody in town is calling a hauler on the same day. Getting on the schedule early helps.

Discreet, because it should be

Nobody involved in an eviction enjoys it. Not you, not the former tenant, not the neighbors watching a family’s belongings sit on a lawn.

We do not make a show of it. Truck shows up, crew loads, crew leaves. No signage announcing what happened at that address, no commentary, no lingering. Property managers who run multiple units tend to care about this more than anything else on the list, because their reputation with the rest of the building is worth protecting.

Do I have to be there?

No, and most landlords are not. Once you have legal possession and you have given us access, we can work the unit without you standing in the driveway.

What we do need is clear direction on one thing: whether anything in the unit is being kept. Sometimes there is an appliance you own, a fixture that stays, or something you have agreed to hold. Tell us before we start and we will work around it. Otherwise we assume everything goes.

What happens to the property left behind?

This is the question we get asked most, and it is worth being precise about because it is a legal question as much as a practical one.

Under Texas law, after a writ of possession is executed, the landlord or their movers remove the tenant’s personal property from the premises and place it outside the structure, typically at the curb or a nearby public area, where the tenant can retrieve it. Texas law does not obligate a landlord to store it.

What that means for you: the timing of when you have us haul is your call and your legal judgment, not ours. Some landlords wait a set period after the set-out. Some clear it immediately once the constable has completed the process. We work to your instruction. If you are unsure what your obligation is on a specific eviction, that is a question for your attorney, not for a hauling company, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise.

Built for people with more than one property

If you manage several units, you already know the pattern. Turnover clusters. You get three at once, then nothing for two months.

We would rather be the number you keep than the one you find in a panic. Landlords and property managers across Amarillo, Canyon, and Bushland use us on repeat because the job is predictable: call, describe the unit, we clear it, you list it.

Canyon in particular runs on the academic calendar. Rentals around West Texas A&M turn over hard in May and again in August, and units that were student-occupied tend to need more than a broom. If you own in that market, book ahead of those windows rather than during them.

If the property needs a full clear out beyond just what a tenant left, including garages, sheds, and storage, look at clean outs. If you would rather load at your own pace and keep a container on site through a longer renovation, a roll off rental is the better fit.
